Rego and service dates in your calendar
Fleetola can feed the calendar you already live in. One private feed carries every rego expiry, every service due date and every contract end date in your fleet, and once your calendar app subscribes to it, the dates keep themselves current - no typing, no export.
Connect the feed
- Open Settings, go to System and find the Comms & calendar panel.
- Click Connect on Google Calendar or Apple Calendar. The two rows are one feed - the same link works in any calendar app that takes an iCal URL, Outlook included.
- Fleetola creates your private feed link and copies it to your clipboard.
- Paste it into your calendar app as a subscription. That step happens outside Fleetola - it is the next section.

Where to paste it
The copied link is not a page to open - it is an address your calendar app checks for updates. Each app has its own door:
- Google Calendar: on the web at calendar.google.com, click the + beside Other calendars, choose From URL, paste the link and click Add calendar. It then shows in the Google Calendar app on your phone too.
- Apple Calendar on a Mac: File, then New Calendar Subscription, paste and subscribe. On an iPhone it is Add Subscribed Calendar, under the Calendar accounts in the Settings app.
- Any other app: look for subscribe, from URL or iCal in its add-calendar menu and paste the same link.
The new calendar arrives named after your business, with - Fleetola on the end.
What's in it
Three kinds of all-day event: Rego expires and Service due for each vehicle, and Contract ends for every signed contract with a return date that has not yet ended, named for its renter - a booking still awaiting signature is not in the feed.. Only dated things can appear - a service due by odometer alone has no date, and an open-ended rental has no end date, so neither shows. The feed is read-only and one-way: editing or deleting an event in your calendar changes nothing in Fleetola.
It stopped updating
Two very different causes look the same. The innocent one is refresh speed: calendar apps re-check a subscribed feed on their own schedule, and Google can take up to a day - a rego date you saved this morning turning up tonight is normal.
The other is Disconnect. Disconnecting kills the link the instant you click it, and reconnecting mints a different link - the old one is never revived. Your calendar app keeps the dead subscription without complaint; it simply never updates again. After any disconnect, remove the old calendar from your app and subscribe again with the new link.
Tip: Reconnecting does not repair an old subscription. New link, new subscription - every time.
Is the link private?
The link needs no login - that is what lets a calendar app read it - so anyone holding the exact URL can see the feed, and the feed names your renters. The address is far too long to guess and Fleetola shows it to nobody, but treat it like a key: do not post it anywhere public. Disconnect is the kill switch - the link stops working everywhere, immediately.
Lost the link before you pasted it? Disconnect, then Connect again - a fresh link lands on your clipboard.
