Your renters can reach their portal, your booking page and every link you send them at an address of yours - portal.yourbusiness.com instead of a Fleetola address. Your own logins, your invoices and your team's pages stay on Fleetola either way, so a domain problem can never lock you out of your own account.
Set it up
- Open Settings → Renter-facing → Your domain and type the address you want. Use a name you already own - a subdomain like portal. or drive. of your business domain is the usual choice.
- Fleetola shows you two DNS records. Add both at whoever manages your domain - your registrar or your web host.
- Press Verify. Fleetola looks both records up; when they are visible the panel says DNS verified.
- Fleetola then does its own step - issuing the certificate for your address - and the panel says so while you wait. When it is done the panel reads Live.
The two records, and why there are two
The CNAME points your address at Fleetola, so a browser asking for it arrives here. The TXT record proves the address is yours: without it, anyone able to point a name at Fleetola could claim an address belonging to somebody else. Both have to be there. If your address is a bare domain rather than a subdomain, your DNS provider may only offer an A record - that works too, and Fleetola accepts it.
Tip: DNS is not instant. Records usually show up within minutes and can take a few hours; Verify can be pressed again once a minute.
What happens to your links
Nothing you have already sent stops working. Your Fleetola address keeps answering, so an old email, a saved bookmark or a booking link already out in the world still opens the right page. New links are composed on your own address once it is live.
If the record is ever removed, or your domain stops pointing at Fleetola, your links go back to the Fleetola address by themselves and the panel says so. That is the deliberate behaviour: an address that has moved is a nuisance, and a link that 404s is a lost customer.
What stays on Fleetola
Your own app, your sign-in, your team's invitations, your billing and your payout setup are always on Fleetola's address, whatever your domain is doing. Your renters never see that side of it, and you can always get in.
