The hire report

Money → Hires answers three questions about your day hires for the period you pick - the last 30 days, this month, last month or this quarter.

Average daily rate

The base hire charged, divided by the days hired, across hires rated per day. A hire counts in the period its pick-up falls in, so one hire is never split between two periods. Add-ons, fees and return charges are left out - it is what the car itself earned a day, the number the industry compares.

Add-on revenue

What those same hires took in add-ons, grouped by the name each add-on had on the booking. Renaming an add-on in Settings later never relabels the history.

Utilisation

The days cars were out on any contract - weekly as well as daily, because a car on a weekly hire is not free to rent by the day - divided by the days of every car on the fleet, up to today. A day still in the future is not counted as rented yet. Cars you have archived or sold are not part of the fleet.

Tip: A draft, a booking request, a contract still out for signing and a cancelled one are not revenue, so none of them counts here.
