Charges and add-ons
A charge is anything on top of the rate - cover or insurance, a child seat, cleaning, delivery, an airport fee. You name it once in Settings and put a price on it every time you use it, so the same charge can be a different price for different renters.
Name your charges
- Open Settings → Renting → Charges you offer.
- Click Add charge, or install the common ones and rename them.
- Choose how it is charged: Once, Per day or Every cycle.
- Add an online price if renters should be able to add it on your booking page. Leave it blank and the charge is priced per contract only.
- Archive anything you stop offering. Renaming or archiving a charge never changes a contract that already carries it.
The three kinds
Once is charged one time. It is written on the agreement and Fleetola never bills it, so collect it at handover.
A one-off charge can also go on an invoice.
Per day is multiplied by the days hired. On a fixed hire that is the length of the hire. On a rolling contract it is the days in the billing cycle, so it rides with the rent in every payment - a $10-a-day charge adds $70 to every weekly payment. Enter the daily amount, never what a week of it comes to.
Every cycle rides with the rent as a flat amount each period. That is your cover or insurance charge, and there is room for one.
Tip: A charge you tick and leave without an amount never reaches the agreement. Price it, or untick it.
On the agreement
On a hire paid up front, the charges print as their own table with a total. On a rolling contract they print beside the rate, and the Per Payment row states what the rate and the charges come to together. Change the billing frequency later and a per-day charge reprices with it.
