Card payments online
With the Online Payments module, renters pay you by card and the money reaches your bank through Stripe. Without the module none of this appears and everything stays manual - recording payments works the same either way. Contact us to add it to your plan.
Set up once
- Connect your payouts under Settings → Your account → Payouts. Until Stripe's checks finish, payouts are blocked and the panel says so plainly.
- Decide who pays the card fee under Settings → Business → Card fees: absorb it, or pass it on as a surcharge.
- That's it. Pay now appears in every renter's portal, and payment-reminder emails link straight to it.
What the renter sees
The Pay now checkout states the rent, the card surcharge if you pass the fee on, and the total - separate lines, never one inflated number. After paying it says confirming your payment until your own record says paid: Fleetola never claims money it has not heard about from Stripe.
A card payment lands in your Payments hub marked Card with its Stripe reference, the receipt email goes out, and the next cycle appears - the same shape as a payment you record by hand.
Sign & Pay
The signing page collects the first payment with the signature: the card box states the rent, any surcharge, and the bond where one rides the card (see Bonds on the card rails). The signature always lands first - if the card fails, you are left with a signed agreement and an unpaid first week, never money taken against nothing.
Tip: A card payment is refunded, not undone: open it in the paid history and choose Refund payment. It caps at what is still refundable and keeps the Stripe reference.
The rent charging itself from a saved card or bank account has its own guide - see Autopay and direct debit.
