Trips, replay and the odometer
Every tracked vehicle keeps its full driving history, day by day. You can read a day as a list of trips, watch it back on the map, export it, and see how far each renter actually drove. Tracking is an optional paid module, switched on per account - contact us to add it to your plan.
Read a day
- Open Tracking from the sidebar and click the vehicle.
- Open the History tab and pick a date.
- The Trips view lists the day: every trip with its times, length, top speed and distance, and every parking stop with how long the car sat.
- Click a trip to see just that leg drawn on the map.

Watch it back
Switch the same day to Replay and press play. The car drives its route on the map at 10x to 600x real time - 10x follows a single trip at a readable pace, 600x scans a whole day. Skip parked time jumps the hours the car sat still, Follow the car keeps the map centred on it, and the arrow buttons jump straight to the previous or next trip. Click anywhere on the timeline to jump to that moment - driving shows in blue, stops in amber.
Export a day
Two downloads sit beside the date, and both cover the day you picked. Route is every recorded position with its time and speed, as a CSV. Events is what the tracker reported that day - ignition, alerts, connection drops - as a second CSV.
The tracker feeds the odometer
About every minute, Fleetola adds the distance a tracked car has driven to its odometer, so the reading keeps itself current and service reminders run on real kilometres. A tracker that was offline catches the odometer up the moment it reconnects - kilometres driven out of coverage are counted, not lost.
If the reading drifts from the dash, correct it on the vehicle: open Vehicles, edit the car, and type what the dash says. The number you type becomes the reading, the tracker counts on from there, and your service reminders follow it - see How the odometer works for the full picture.
How far did a renter drive?
The Reports tab answers it. Kilometres by contract splits the vehicle's tracked distance across every contract it has been on - the current renter first, previous renters below. Above it, Last 7 days shows the week's driving day by day.

Tip: A row reading only X of Y days recorded means tracking covered part of that contract. The figure is what was recorded, not the whole rental - never quote it to a customer as the total.
The report is for understanding how a car is used, not for billing. Excess kilometres are always charged from the odometer readings typed at handover and return, never from GPS - see How the odometer works.
