Your Fleetola subscription

Your Fleetola subscription is one card: Plan, under Your account in Settings. It names the band you are on, what it covers and the one figure you pay each month. Billing is the owner's alone: team members cannot subscribe or open the billing portal.

How the bill is worked out

One flat price for your whole fleet. The size of your fleet picks a band, the band carries a price, and nothing in it multiplies by a car count. A car parked all month costs you nothing extra, and every feature is on every band.

The bands are on our pricing page, and your own is on the Plan card with the fleet it covers. If we have agreed a price with you, that figure is what the card shows and what Stripe charges - it does not move when the published bands change.

Texts to your renters are charged on top, once you switch them on. Each text segment costs the price shown under Settings → Messages, added to your Fleetola invoice after the month ends. With texts off, nothing is charged.

GPS tracking is the other extra, and it is a separate line. If you have the tracking module, you are charged for each vehicle you have a tracker fitted to, on top of your plan. The Plan card lists it with the count it is charging for and the total of the two, so the figure there is the figure Stripe takes. Taking a tracker off, or archiving the car, drops the count at your next bill and never mid-month.

When your fleet outgrows its band

A band's limit is inclusive, so a band that covers up to 10 vehicles holds ten. The eleventh moves you to the next band, from your next billing cycle - the current month is never re-charged part way through. Fleetola tells you before it happens: the Plan card warns as soon as you are sitting on your band's limit, and so does the last step of Add vehicle, both naming the band you would move to and what it costs.

Tip: Archiving a car takes it out of the count. That only changes your bill if it drops you into a smaller band, and the change lands at your next cycle.

Active means not archived. A car out on hire, in for service, even one marked Sold or Damaged, still counts towards the band. The one thing that takes a car out of the count is Archive, on its card under Vehicles - and Restore puts it back.

Subscribe, change plan or cancel

  1. Open Settings and pick the Your account tab.
  2. Not subscribed yet? Subscribe on the Plan card opens Stripe Checkout, on the band your fleet fits. Payment happens on Stripe's own page - your card details never touch Fleetola.
  3. Where a free trial applies, Stripe takes a card at checkout and charges nothing until the trial ends.
  4. Already subscribed? Manage billing opens the Stripe billing portal - change your card or cancel there.
  5. Stripe returns you to this tab when you finish, and the card shows where things stand.

Where to find it: Settings → Your account → Plan

Fleetola's invoices

Fleetola's invoices are not kept in the app. Every invoice and receipt for your subscription lives in the Stripe billing portal - click Open portal, beside Invoices & receipts on this tab, and they are all there.

Not the same money as Payouts

This card is you paying Fleetola. Payouts - its own panel on the Money tab once you have the Online Payments module - is the opposite direction: your renters' card payments reaching your bank through Stripe. The two never mix. Nothing a renter pays you lands on this bill, and this bill is never taken out of renter money. See Set up payouts.
